WELCOME

Welcome to The Foodies Network Blog!!

What make's this Avocado Burger Flavorful is that I soak the avocados in lime for an hour giving a great tangy flavor to the burger.

  1. IF USING A GRILL:
Heat a gas grill to high or heat coals in a charcoal grill until they glow bright orange and ash over. Brush the burgers with the oil. Grill the burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the first side, about 3 minutes for beef and 5 minutes for turkey. Flip over the burgers.

Cook beef burgers until golden brown and slightly charred on the second side, 4 minutes for medium rare (3 minutes if topping with cheese; see step 3) or until cooked to desired degree of doneness.

Cook turkey burgers until cooked throughout, about 5 minutes on the second side.

  2. GRILLED SIRLOIN BURGERS
    TOPPED WITH LIME AVOCADOS
    Ingredients:
1-½ lbs.85 percent lean ground chuck or 90 percent lean ground sirloin
    ½ tsp. kosher salt
    ½ tsp. freshly ground pepper
    ¼ tsp. garlic powder
    ¼ tsp. onion powder
    ¼ tsp. season salt
    4 good quality hamburger buns
    Iceberg lettuce leaves
4 ¼-inch thick slices ripe tomato
    4 thin slices red onion
15 slices of lime avocados (sliced avocados soaked in fresh lime juice)
    Directions:
Place the ground beef in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and season salt. Gently mix together -- do not overwork.
Form seasoned beef into four patties about 1-inch thick. Grill on the well-oiled rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 10 minutes. Turn with a spatula and grill 10 to 12 minutes more, until meat is cooked and a meat thermometer registers 160 degree F internal temperature.
Toast buns, cut side down on grill during last 1 to 2 minutes of grilling.
To serve, top bottom half of bun with lettuce, a slice tomato, place burger on top of tomato then top with a slice of onions, 4 slice of lime avocados sprinkle with salt and pepper.
    Serve
